GRANTS

Grant County Comnunity Foundation partners with donors to make grants to meet charitable community needs.  Some grants have specific guidelines for funding and others are broader based.  However, one thing that all our  grants have in common is the power to make a difference.  The grant program is essentially the heart and soul of the GCCF and is the reason we do what we do.

GCCF distributes grants each year to non-profits and charitable projects through:

COMPETITIVE GRANTS

GCCF awards competitive grants each year. We welcome your interest in these opportunities.

Grant applications are available through the button below, or you can contact (620) 356-4223 or grantccf@gmail.com.

DONOR ADVISED AND DESIGNATED FUNDS

Many of our grants are recommended by donors through their donor advised funds. Donors may recommend annual grants according to their current charitable interests. Donors with strong ties to a particular organization often establish a designated fund for its benefit.

Neither donor advised nor designated funds accept applications as their grants are donor directed.

GRANT GUIDELINES

The Grant County Community Foundation has changed to an open grant cycle. Grant applications are
accepted any time during the year and will be reviewed and a decision made within 30 days.

All our competitive grants abide by our General Grant Guidelines, however, some funds have additional or more restrictive guidelines.

Who is eligible to receive funding?

  • 501(c)(3) or other exempt organizations/groups or the government equivalent.
  • Individuals or organizations that do not fall into one of the above types of institutions are encouraged to partner with a fiscal agent in one of those categories. If that is not possible, a grant may still be awarded for a charitable project, but with additional expenditure responsibility requirements.
  • Unless noted otherwise, our priority is to projects or programs that benefit Grant County, Kansas.

GCCF IS NOW USING AN ONLINE PROCESS FOR GRANT APPLICATIONS

You will be asked to create an account the first time to start a grant request.  You may start a grant request and come back later to complete it.  Click on the grant application that you are applying for, click on “Create new account”, and add the required information.

WHEN REVIEWING APPLICATIONS, THE FOLLOWING WILL BE CONSIDERED:

  • Description of the project – Is the project clearly defined and easy for someone outside of your organization to understand?
  • Definition of Need – Is there information about how the need was determined and also a clear explanation as to why the project needs to be funded at this time
  • Project Results and Evaluation – Are the project goals/results realistic and measurable? And is there a clear plan on how to measure success
  • Innovativeness – If this is a new or innovative project/program, does it fill a community need and is it well-planned out?
  • Repeat Grants- If this is an ongoing project, or a repeat grant, does it fill an important need in the community?

What kinds of requests are considered?

The Foundation considers grants that support a variety of funding opportunities including, but not limited to projects of programs that support:

  • Arts
  • Community Development
  • Education
  • Environmental/Beautification
  • Health
  • Human Services
  • Recreation
  • Technology
  • Youth

GCCF will NOT consider the following:

  • Applications for non-charitable purposes
  • Political projects of any kind
  • Organizations or projects that practice discrimination by race, color, creed, sex, age or national origin
  • Operating deficits or retirement of debt
  • Religious organizations for religious purposes

    The Process

After we receive your completed proposal, the Foundation’s Grants Committee will meet to review your application. The Grants Committee will make its recommendations to the Board of Directors. You will be notified of the Board’s decision as soon as possible after the Board meeting at which your application is considered.

Organizations that are awarded a grant are not eligible for the next grant cycle unless the funds have been expended, AND, the organization is requesting funds for a separate project. The Final Report is due at completion of your program and before an additional grant will be funded, or approximately one year from the date funds are received.

    Additional Information
Due to the number of requests the Foundation receives, it is not guaranteed every project will be funded or full requests will be met. The Foundation will only accept one grant request per organization, per grant period.

Each grant request will be reviewed and evaluated on its own merit based on the contents of the application form. For this reason, it is important to provide clear and complete responses to all information requested.

    FINAL REPORTS

    Final Reports are due:

    1. One year from original application due date, or
    2. When a new application is submitted, whichever comes first.

A Final Report must be completed  before a new application can be considered.
