GRANT COUNTY GIVES

Grant County Gives is a community fund raising campaign for non-profit and exempt organizations in Grant County with the added value of matching funds. All the money raised during Grant County Gives is for local organizations who are working to improve life in Grant County.

GROW II

The Kansas Health Foundation began GROW II in 2012, the second chapter of its work with community foundations. GROW II is focused on strengthening the community foundation field in Kansas. The main goals of GROW II are 1) to help more Kansas community foundations build permanent resources that will measurably improve the health of local residents, and 2) to support collaboration and alliances among community foundations to ensure a well managed and self-sufficient community foundation field in Kansas.

The Grant County Community Foundation was challenged to raise endowment dollars that will be matched by the Kansas Health Foundation up to $300,000. When successful in our fundraising efforts, we will raise over $1,200,000 for the betterment of our community. This represents local dollars that will stay local and benefit Grant County.

GROW II will focus on strengthening the community foundation through matching funds to our Operations Endowment and a new endowment to underwrite solutions to local health issues.

In addition to the matching endowed grant, the community foundation board will receive training, one-on-one consulting and support and, if certain benchmarks are met, an operating grant of $10,500 on an annual basis for five years.

“We look forward to this new phase of helping community foundations across Kansas grow into healthy, thriving sources of help that will stand the test of time,” says Steve Coen, president and CEO of the Kansas Health Foundation.

WOMEN OF PURPOSE

In the spring of 2011, an idea began bubbling among the women in the community. What if we could pool our money to help other women step up to meet their potential? Excitement began to build as we thought of the unique challenges women face to further their education, prepare for careers, raise their families and keep themselves strong mentally and physically. From that idea, the Grant County Community Foundation’s Women of Purpose Fund was born.

The goal of this fund is to empower Grant County women to take an active and powerful role in philanthropy to serve other women and children. The Women of Purpose fund will allow dedicated, engaged women to make a difference in the lives of many without a significant time commitment.

Our vision is to establish an endowment of $50,000 for the fund. The fund will grow each year from the donations of the 100 Women of Purpose.

100 Women of Purpose

Each year the Grant County Community Foundation (GCCF) will invite area women to contribute $100 in the Women of Purpose Fund to become a voting member.

Founders

To launch the Women of Purpose fund we have a unique opportunity for area women to become founding members. We invite fifty (50) area women to become Founders by investing a minimum of $1,100 to create the founding endowment of the Women of Purpose fund. These endowed funds will establish the foundation on which we will build in years to come.
